Presented by Matt Gilley, lifelong Harpswell fisherman and Harpswell Selectman.
Matt will show examples of his lobstering tools and oddities such as a clam that grew in a Coke bottle that came up in one of his traps! He’ll talk about the many varieties of seafood here in Harpswell including tuna, scallops and oysters, groundfish, mackerel and more. Born into a lobstering family, Matt will talk about the changes he and his family have seen, going from wooden lobster traps to metal, from unlimited traps to 800. In addition to serving Harpswell as its youngest Selectman, Matt is also a member of seven Town and State committees working on subjects that affect fishing.
